A hand scraper is a single-edged tool used to scrape metal from a surface and are used where a surface needs to be trued, corrected for fit to a mating part or to give a decorative finish. A spreader is a hand tool device used for spreading or scattering a substance, usually cement or adhesives or pastes over a wide area. A trowel is a small handheld tool with a flat, pointed blade, used to apply and spread mortar or plaster.
